Focus topics
At the LWL-Coordination Office for Addiction Issues, we work on a range of focus areas to strengthen addiction prevention, treatment, and cooperation at local, national, and European levels. Many of our projects address multiple topics and target groups.
We currently offer detailed information in English on the following areas:
Addiction Prevention & Youth Work:
Early intervention and youth-specific programmes, such as Localize It and FreD. Also includes projects like RARHA addressing alcohol prevention among young people.
Municipal & Community Strategies:
Supporting local communities to develop effective alcohol and addiction policies, for example through the EU-funded project Localize It which focused on reducing risky alcohol consumption of coung people in 12 municipalities in Europe.
Family & Addiction:
Providing guidance and tools for supporting families and children affected by parental substance use (see Make the Difference).
Networks & Cooperation:
Engaging in national and European networks to foster knowledge exchange, capacity building, and policy development.
We also work on other important focus areas such as Men & Addiction, and Inclusion & Cultural Sensitivity. These resources are currently available in German only.
